Library Mission Statement
The Smithville Elementary Library strives to provide a safe, learner-centered, information-rich environment in which students and staff may develop into effective users of ideas and information.


The library encourages a love of reading in Smithville Elementary's students while providing them with the skills needed to be successful lifelong learners. It supports the educational curriculum by providing a current resource collection.

Students may visit the library at any time, individually or with their class.  Students are permitted to check out 2 books for a period of two weeks. Students are allowed unlimited renewals so they can finish their books.


About the Librarian

Mrs. G. is beginning her twelfth year in education and her ninth year as a school librarian. She graduated with her B.A. in English from Texas A&M and earned her MLS from The University of North Texas.


Mrs. G. loves to cook, do arts and crafts, and, of course, read! She also loves spending time with her husband, Grant, and her daughers, Arabella, Emeline, and Penelope.
