Our Library Has Been Seussified!

It looks like the Cat in the Hat has taken over our library this week!

A grove of truffula trees has sprung up in the computer area:

And these cool little guys have started hanging out on the library tables:

I can't wait to see what's in store for Dr. Seuss's birthday!

American Girl, In the Beginning

On this day, in 1986, the first three American Girls, Kirsten, Samantha, and Molly, were introduced! They started a series of books that now includes 11 different characters. American Girl books tell the stories of girls growing up during different periods of history. If you've ever wondered what it was like to go to school in a one-room schoolhouse, or to have a birthday party during World War II, or to celebrate Christmas during the Great Depression, pick up an American Girl book in the Historical Fiction section of our library today! Welcome Back!

It was great to see so many shining faces this morning! I love the first day of school, and I am so excited to start another great year of reading! I know that all of my students will be reading rockstars this year!
